Berlin (Warnemunde) (August 25, 9:30am)

Take a detailed tour of Germany’s capital city Berlin as we arrive in the port of Warnemunde.  Meet the guide at the Charlottenburg Castle and start the tour in the former allied sectors of the city including the the Kurfurstendamm, Kaiser William Memorial Church, the Tiergarten, Victory Column and the Bellevue Palace. At the German Parliament, the Reichstag, walk through the Brandenburg Gate in Paris Square and then visit the impressive Holocaust Memorial.  In the afternoon, the tour continues with the historic heart of the city in the former Soviet sector of East Berlin and also includes the Jewish Quarter and New Synagogue, the Kathe Kollwitz WWII memorial and Bebel Platz.

Medieval Tallinn (August 27, 10:00am)

Begin this walking tour of the Old Town of Tallinn with visits to the Stout Margaret Tower, Pikk Street, Toompea Hill, the Parliament building and the Alexander Nevskii Orthodox Cathedral and Dome Church.  In the Lower Town, visits include the St. Nicolas, St. Olaf and Holy Spirit churches, Town Hall Square and the oldest pharmacy in the world.  After the tour, there will be free time to explore the Old Town, enjoy some lunch as well as shpping.

St. Petersburg (August 28, 7:30am; August 29, 8:30am)

An early start, but one that will be well worth the effort with visits to two of its most beautiful palaces.  Begin the day with a guided visit of the Rococo-style Catherine Palace, summer home of the Russian Tsars in the town of Pushkin as well as the magnificent parks that surround it.  Then it’s off to the Peterhof Palace, often referred to as the Russian Versailles for its landscaped gardens, famous fountains and the structure of the Grand Palace itself.


Day Two will offer a city tour as well as boat ride along the many rivers and canals.  City highlights include visits to the Peter-and-Paul Fortress and Cathedral, the Cathedral of the Spilt Blood and in particular a guided tour of the State Hermitage Museum.

Helsinki (August 30, 10:00am)

Begin the day with a sightseeing tour of key points in the city including the Sibelius monument, the Finlandia Halland Opera House and a visit to the Design district.  Then take a walking tour of the city center starting with Market square and the Old Harbor, Senate Square with the its monument to Russian Emperor Alexander I, the Great Lutheran and Orthodox Dormition Cathedrals and the monument to Marshal Gustav Mannerheim.  Enjoy some free time to visit restaurants, museums and other highlights before meeting the bus back to the port.

Stockholm (August 31, 10:00am)

Today, enjoy a walking tour of the city center of Stockholm starting with the Old Town, Gamla Stan where visits include St. Nicolas Cathedral, the King’s Palace, the Old and New Parliament buildings, the Nobel Committee’s headquarters and Knight’s Island (Riddarholmen).

Copenhagen (September 2, 10:00am)

Start today’s tour in the Old Town of Copenhagen where highlights include the Royal Square, New Harbor Street and the canal with its historic sailboats.  Walk along one of the longest pedestrian areas in the world and its medieval streets and finally the Round Tower. Enjoy free time in the afternoon with suggested tours of Parliament Tower, a boat ride on the many canals, Town Hall Square and a visit to the famous Tivoli Gardens amusement park.
